Child Safe
We are a Child Safe Organisation
BDS Support Services has zero tolerance for child abuse.
BDS has implemented the Child Safe Standards and we are committed to creating a culture and environments that ensure children feel safe and are safe.
We have a Statement of Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
We have a Child Safe Policy, which guides how we will meet the Child Safe Standards to promote child safety and prevent harm to children and young people. We recongise the need to promote:
- the safety of children with a disability.
- the cultural safety of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children.
- the cultural safety of children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
We have a system to respond to any allegations of child abuse and neglect by our workers and volunteers.
Our staff agree to a Child Safety Code of Conduct, which sets out appropriate standards of behaviour and practices for people working and volunteering with children and young people. Workers and volunteers doing child-related work hold a Working with Children Check.
